The European Commission adopted on 30th June its proposal for amending the 2008 framework regulating consumer credit activities in Europe.

The European consumer credit industry was not exempt from the general downturn experienced as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020.

European consumer credit providers, represented through Eurofinas , granted new loans worth €469.2 billion in 2019, an increase of 3.4% compared to 2018.

Eurofinas would like to emphasise that consumer credit providers across Europe remain fully dedicated to supporting European households which may face difficulties in this unprecedented time.
